Answers
1)  Q How do I report a problem with SASI?
A

First, try these troubleshooting steps;

  • Exit Sasixp; re-enter, is the problem fixed?
  • Exit Sasixp; shut the computer all the way down, and restart, is the problem fixed?
  • Try to login to Sasixp as yourself on another workstation in the office; if you find no problem, tell your tech support there is a problem with your hardware.
  • Ask a co-worker to try and do exactly what you're having a problem with; This is usually a Sasixp rights problem; Contact tech support. Use our work order system at;

Use the "Student Database" category.

2)  Q Whats the difference between "No Show" and "Inactivation"?
A
Generally, you No show before school starts, but it is applicable during the year. No shows delete every bit of attendance data for a child in that given year. Therefore, if the child has attended your school even for just one day, no showing does not apply.
3)  Q What if a student ends the year at my site, then the following year is moving to a different elementary school within the district?
A
We make the assumption that a New Year Rollover has already been done; In this case, you do nothing in the current year, but instead change to the following year (green screen) and No Show for that year. Then, the transfer site enrolls normally (in next year)
4)  Q When do I inactivate a student?
A
Inactivation happens when a child leaves your site during the school year at any point (after having attended at least one day) You would use this for transfers within the district and departure from our district.

If the student is transferring to another school on the current day, adjust the leave date according to the studentís last day of attendance at the school of the inactivate operation. If this is not done, the studentís next school of attendance cannot use the current date to activate the student.
5)  Q How do I send an atom to another person at my school?
A
Generally the "Send Atom" Atom is not on your regular toolbar. You have to go the long way to find it. Double click to open "Sasi Modules" then open the Folder called "Utilities", and you will see "Send Mail" and "Send Atom". From this point it's relatively self-explanatory, just remember NOT to "add all users" or "add all atoms", just double-click on the one you want, and hit "Send" once. It doesn't give any dialog confirmation, except for a tiny "atom was sent" message in the lower left window, so if you hit send again, you're sending it again, and again, and again.
6)  Q How do I find an atom that someone sends me?
A
Look to the "In Folder" located on the lower right corner of the desktop. If you have received the atom, a little red arrow appears to notify you. From there you just open "In Folder" and left-click and hold the atom to drag it to your SasiXP desktop.
