Cumberland cannot thrive without the wonderful support it gets from familites and community! There are many ways to help support Cumberland:

Volunteering:

1. Help your child's class on fieldtrips by being a driver/chaperone. Please wait for sign up sheets from your teacher.
   
2. Be a volunteer in the classroom - ask your child's teacher for details.
3. Work at home to prepare assignments (cut, paste, collate, staple, etc.) - ask your child's teacher for detail.
4. Be an active Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) member and help on various child/adult programs and events. For more information, checkout the P.T.A. Volunteer page.
5. If you have younger children, or if you are not as confident with English, there are still jobs you can help out. Please see "Parents with Younger Children" and Jobs not requiring Fluent English.
6. Don't have a lot of time to volunteer, check out volunteer jobs that require very light time commitment.

Funding:

• Walkathon and Auction: Walkathon and Auction is the PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year, held during October. This fundraising typically nets over $80,000. All of this money goes straight into enrichment programs for our children. Please see the Walkathon page for more details.

• eScrip: eScript is a program where Cumberland can receive donations from stores you already shop -- at no cost to you. Merchants reward customer loyalty by contributing a percentage of purchases to your chosen group such as Cumberland. Easiest usage is registering your Safeway Card or Nob Hill Card.  Please see more details on how to enroll.


• Box Tops: Box top collections is a fun way to involve the students in money saving. Look for these marks on your cereal boxes and cut them out. Box tops are usually collected at school 2 times each year. Stay tuned for the dates.

• Book Fair: During spring, the PTA sponsors a "not-to-be missed" Book Fair. The book company, Scholastic, donates approximately 30% of the sales to the PTA. These proceeds directly support our school library.

• Office Depot: Ask for the Cumberland code number at checkout to receive 5% for the school.

• Target Visa: Designate Cumberland as your school. Donations from Target will be:
  
  • 1% of your purchase at Target or Target.com
  • 0.5% of your purchase made anywhere else with the visa card.

• Schoolpop: Register your credit, debit, prepaid, and store cards and earn contributions for Cumberland on everyday purchases from leading merchants. There are hundreds of online and in-store coupons.

• Nob Hill: Request a Nob Hill "Quality of Life" card from Cumberland's eScrip Volunteer Coordinator, and register your card at the Nob Hill website.
  

• Save Mark & Lucky: If you shop at Save Mart or Lucky, please contact eScrip Volunteer Coordinator and you will receive a S.H.A.R.E.S card. You simply use the S.H.A.R.E.S Card when you purchase groceries. For each purchase, 3% of the value is automatically transferred to Cumberland.
