Read Well Homework

Mondays:

1. Read book two times with family member (This is their library book that is also their A.R. book for the week. They will take a test on this book whenever they are ready).

*** While you are reading the book make sure htat you are checking for understanding before turning the page. Ask yourself, "What happened on this page?"- if you cannot answer the question go back and re-read the words and ask yourself the question again). ***

2. Practice spelling words- please write your spelling words in ABC order on a separate piece of paper and bring it to school.

3. Read decodable story (in bookworm journal) three times each with a family member, and get the story signed (or initialed three times) at the bottom of the page.

Tuesdays:

1. Read book one time with family member.

2. Spelling words practice- write your words three times each on paper provided.

3. Read decodable story three times with a family member and get signed three times.

Wednesdays:

1. Read book one time with a family member.

2. Writing- write and answer the following on another piece of paper. (Or use the white piece of paper attached to the homework packet). Please remember to draw a picture to go with your sentences:

I like this part because ___________________________.

3. Read decodable story three times with a family member and get signed three times.

Thursdays:

1. Read book one time with a family member.

2. Spelling words practice- take a pretest on a separate piece of paper and bring it to class. If you miss a word, please write the words five times.

3. Review the students' three Daily Oral Language sentences for tomorrow's test.

4. Read a story from you journal and get signed.
